Lending Laws Motion Passed

The Senate has just passed my motion condemning the Morrison Government for their attempts to water down laws which protect Australian borrowers from harmful lending practices.

This act is contrary to recommendation 1.1 of the Banking Royal Commission and a broken promise to past and future victims of banking misconduct.

The Government has been further condemned by the Senate for its failure to protect vulnerable Australian consumers who are being exploited by payday loans and consumer leases with crippling interest rates.

Scott Morrison and the Liberals are not on your side.
