It was a pleasure to catch up with my old friend and colleague Kathryn Laing at Howrah Beach Child Care Centre.

I donated a tree to the centre which I planted with the help of some little helpers! When the tree grows it will provide shade for children while they play outdoors.

As a former early childhood educator, I admire educators and the work they do. It a complex and highly skilled occupation yet one that is often undervalued and contributes so much to the learning and development of children.

Thank you to Kathryn and staff for welcoming me and showing me around the new centre.
