International Worker’s Memorial Day

The 28th of April is International Worker’s Memorial Day,

Today I attended an event in Franklin Square to pay my respects to those who have been killed or injured at work, and to help raise awareness about workplace injuries.

Amongst others I was joined by Julie Collins MP, Kate Rainbird – Tas Labor Senate Candidate and Simon Davis – Labor for Clark.

Unions Tasmania hosted this event.

Throughout the world, workers and their representatives conduct events to mark the significance of this day and support the rallying cry “Remember the dead and fight for the living”

Every worker, no matter what their occupation or hours worked, deserves to work in a safe environment.
